Care Instructions for Monozero Furniture products

GENERAL INFORMATION

Your MONOZERO furniture was handcrafted using responsibly harvested wood. Finished only with natural oil, the wood remains free from harmful substances and retains its wonderful characteristic. The finish enhances the wood grain, gives it depth and 3-dimensionality and an exquisite satin glow. Furthermore natural wood binds dust and smell and has antistatic and natural antibacterial properties. Natural wood reacts to its surroundings and acts as a natural climate control system. It absorbs moisture and gradually disperses it back into the room’s atmosphere. Due to this characteristics and although we have done anything possible to ensure that your furniture will remain warp resistant and split free you have to ensure proper placement and conditions for your wooden furniture. If the relative humidity in the room exceeds normal living conditions (below 35% and above 65%) natural wood either contracts or expands and can become deformed or start to split. Unsuitable room temperature and air humidity, excessive or prolonged exposure to high temperatures and direct sunlight can change the colour of your furniture, dry the wood excessively and cause cracks. MONOZERO cannot be held responsible for any damages caused by not following the care instructions.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

Light dirt can be cleaned with a damp cloth (not too wet). Do NOTuse any microfiber cloths, fat-dissolving household detergents or steam cleaners. Depending on the severity of the mark, more heavily soiled areas or black spots can be removed using MONOZERO wood soap or by sanding with fine grit sandpaper (320 grit or above). A slight pressure should be applied sanding in the direction of the wood grain until the dirt spot is removed. It is advised to clean an area of 20 cm around the soiling to avoid discolouration. After the sanding MONOZERO Maintenance oil should be applied with a sponge. Allow the oil to be absorbed for around 30 min. After that it is crucial to remove any excess oil with a dry soft cotton cloth. MONOZERO wood soap is a solution for the regular cleaning of oiled surfaces. It removes any dirt and grease thoroughly without leaving a film. The wood retains its natural look and our signature satin glow finish.Depending on the micro climate it is advised to re-oil the wood once a year. For this use MONOZERO Maintenance oil. Apply with a sponge, leave for approximately 30 minutes before wiping off all the excess oil thoroughly with a soft cotton cloth. Do NOT use microfibre cloths. Do NOT use wet wipes, window cleaner, polish paste or other household detergents for the cleaning and care of your natural wood, oiled furniture.

Care Instructions for Monozero petite products

CLEANING & DESINFECTION

For a long life of your MONOZERO petite product, we recommend regular cleaning and disinfection as follows:

Rinse the product thoroughly with hot water and soap and dry it. NOTE: NEVER soak wooden products with water. Wood is porous and absorbs water, and it can crack and bend as it dries.

For disinfection and cleaning, we advise wiping your MONOZERO petite product with white vinegar. Hydrogen peroxide (3%) can also be used.

To eliminate unpleasant odors such as garlic, onion or fish rub off your MONOZERO petite product with coarse salt, baking soda, fresh lemon juice or vinegar.

REGULAR OIL TREATMENT

Your MONOZERO petite product is sealed with a natural, water-resistant, food-safe oil. To sustain the rich wood surface, oil your MONOZERO petite product regularly. Apply olive oil or vegetable oil over the entire surface of the wood with a kitchen sponge, allow the oil to penetrate for about an hour, and then remove excess oil with a cotton cloth.
