Monozero is an affair between our appreciation for art and design and our love for wood.
MONOZERO is a small team of wood crazy artisans who create by hand in a boutique workshop bespoke tables in a very limited edition of exactly one piece per model. All MONOZERO tables are built by hand, because we believe that there is a special exchange of energy when a skilled craftsman handles and shapes the wood. We respect the essence of the wood and it leads the design process, because we firmly believe that in order to create a timeless table that will be used by generations, materials are more important than forms.
In this day and age it has become the norm that materials all around us in our daily life, be it in our homes, in our cars or in our workplaces pretend to be something they are not. Plastic pretends to be metal, leather or wood; ceramic tiles pretend to be wood; iron pretends to be stainless steel etc. The problem with this trend is firstly that human senses are not that easily deceived which leaves us with a bitter aftertaste and disappointment from most modern products and secondly such pretentious, dishonest materials do not age well and contribute to a throwaway society. MONOZERO was created as a crusade against this contemporary trends.
